Benalla Giants traveled to Wangaratta to play Tigers
Giants started off strong in the first quarter with captian Lachlan Boyle getting the boys all fired up. By the end of the first quarter the giants had an 11 point lead. In the second quarter the giant found another gear and kicked five goals for the quarter with a strong effort by Jake Felmingham and Will O’Donoghue both finding space and moving the ball into the foward line. By half time the giant’s had a thirty-three point lead. In the third quarter Felmingham was finding space and using the ball well. The Tigers were struggling to score with Lachlan Boyle, Charlie Mccarthy and Colby Mathieson in the back line. Deakyn Kohler was superb in foward kicking four goals for the game. By three quarter time the giants still had a strong thirty-four point lead. In the final quarter the Tigers started to fight back and the Giants were struggling to get to the ball first, with the Tigers kicking three goals in the last quarter. The Giants had there first win for the season with final scores Benalla Giants 59 Wangaratta Tigers 44
